Experienced Researcher - Multiple Target Tracking in a Ground Sensor Network
Category:

Description
SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

The project is about connecting a number of small sensors - could be tripwires, microphone arrays, seismic sensors, infrared motion detectors, small radars etc - in a radio network. The sensors will give detections on vehicles and people and perhaps animals. The reports from the sensors are forwarded through the network to a data fusion node. Here the sensor data are processed and compiled to give an understanding of what is going on. This is to be used for surveillance purposes. But when multiple objects are detected simultaneously ambiguities can easily occur - is there one object detected by several sensors, or are there several objects? We want to develop better methods for making the situation clear, and this is something that requires sophisticated techniques for data processing.
